Air conditioners have quickly become an essential part of the Queensland experience. With our hot, humid climate, an air conditioner may mean the difference between enjoying your day and sweating up a storm.

But how much does it cost to run an air conditioner?

Simply put, it will depend on your usage, number of units, and the size of your home. Queenslanders on average spend more on cooling their homes than any other state or territory in Australia ($707).

If you’re running a split-system unit set at 24 degrees Celsius, you can expect to pay around $0.77 per hour or $3.44 per day.
